Chiltern too strong

Away to Chiltern Fusion, Sunday 20th March, Lost 59-46

Hit but injury and illness a small squad of just 6 made the trip to High Wycombe. The ladies played a good game but the opposition were the better team underlying their dominance of the division. But this was a good humoured game and fun to play.

Top scorer: Annabelle with 19 points

Squad: Annabelle (19), Clara (14), Elaine (4), Anne (4), Robyn (4), Helen (1)

Aldworth muscle the ladies off court

Away to Aldworth Arrows, Monday 14th March, Lost 78-35

Despite the season head to head being 1:1 with Aldworth this was a completely new team as many of the missing senior squad members had returned including the towering ex-England player. The scoreline was almost irrelevant in this game as the ladies looked to enjoy the game despite some over-zealous play from the opposition. Aldworth were the better side but the ladies did themselves proud.

Top scorer was Annabelle with 10 points

Squad: Annabelle (10), Helen (7), Elena (6), Elaine (5), Anne (4), Milena (2), Jo (1), Robyn

A hat-trick against Camberley, just!

Home to Camberley Goldhawks, Wednesday 2nd March, Won 54-52

Having beaten Camberley twice already this season expectations were high for the ladies to record their first win since the plate success but Camberley had other ideas and threw everything they had at the game. The ladies held a small lead for much of the game but Camberley edged 2 points ahead with just a minute to play setting up a thrilling finale. Helen slotted home an outside shot to tie the game and then a steal from Annabelle set up a fast break which Anne slotted home to take the most slender of victories. Well played both both sides but a very deserved win for the ladies.

Top scorer was Jo with 17 points

Squad: Jo (17), Annabelle (15), Helen (8), Anne (4), Robyn (4), Becky (2), Elaine (2), Milena (2)

The ladies nearly do it again...

Home to Winchester Panthers, Wednesday 9th March, Lost 47-44

Another week and another nailbiting game. The ladies again found some of their best basketball against 3rd placed in the league Winchester but on this occasion it was the ladies who always trailed slightly. 4 points down with 2 minutes to play was just a little too far despite a valient in bound play for a tied score. Winchester held their nerve however and slotted home a final free-throw to take a slender 3-point win.

Top scorer was Annabelle with 19 points

Squad: Annabelle (19), Elena (8), Jo (7), Helen (6), Elaine (2), Milena (2), Becky

Ladies scare Chiltern

Chiltern, the league leaders, were running scared but managed to pull it together to hold on for an 8-point win. A thrilling game for players and spectators alike!
