Hunters Lose In A Close One

As I write this, I’m drinking a delicious Czech beer. Alas, this is not a celebratory drink. Nope. It is the other sort. The ‘drink away your troubles’ kind of beer.

As you may have guessed by now, we lost tonight. We lost by 2 measly points. 51 – 49. So I’m going to keep this short, as I don’t really feel like lingering on this match for too long.

We lost because we shot like doo doo. That’s pretty much the long and the short of it. Maybe it was first game nerves, or maybe it was just one of those days. Either way, we all know we were more than capable of beating that team with ease.

Despite the loss and the poor offence, there were some positives. First and foremost, our defence was pretty good, very good at times. We hustled hard and we didn’t get on each others cases for mistakes.

I’m going to leave it at that for now. Next time we’ll get them!

Scorers were as so:

Hunters Claim Important Road Win

Hunters 90 Aztec Jaguars 66

The 'friendly' match between Woking Blackhawks and the Aztec jaguars was friendly in name only. Dirty Dave's ability to foul people from the other side of the court proving too much for some of the Aztec players.

The Woking Blackhawks Are Recruiting

The History

For many years, this club has benefited from the hard work and dedication of a select few volunteers. Their tireless efforts, coordinated approach and selfless attitude have made the club thrive off the court so that we, the players can excel on the court. These few have taken on more and more duties as the years have passed, to the point where the viability of the club rests in the hands of a mere handful of volunteers.

As the club grows and the demands and opportunities continue to evolve, it is clear that the club needs to change our approach to managing the off-court side of our teams.

To that end, we are excited to announce a new structure to the Woking Blackhawks management committee.

Easy win vs. Shadows (83-62)

The team was determined to make ammends from last Tuesday's performance and they showed what they can do on the court. With JD orchestrating the offense and Pacey being a constant threat, the Hunters lead in Q1 by 20:10. The same effort in the second half and with 4 3pointers by Justas , Paice and 2 by Liu got the Hunters leading by 28 points at the end of the 1st half, 49-21.
