Hunters Return to Winning Ways

Hunters claimed a 5 pont win over the Jaguars to reurn to winning ways

after dissappointing defeats away at Farnborough and South Bucks.

The game started positiveley with the Hunters freely scoring and the Jaguars having a slow start and not sinking a field basket until the sixth minute by which time the home side had a 7 point lead,  Up to the half the Hunters maintained their control and went into the break with a 13 point adbvantage 39:26. The early departure from the game of Alex Brane-Porter with a rolled ankled was a loss to the squad but the bench was deep enough to fill the gap

In nthe third quarter the lead was maintained up to the senenth minute after which the Jaguars became revitalised and went on a scoring spree whiclt the Hunters stalled.

By the 4th minuted of the final quarter Jaguars the lead had dissolved and the Jaguars had a 1 point advantage 58:59.

Coach Lansdell steadied the squad , Nick Sammut drew a foul and sunk both freethrows to retake the lead, this steadied the squad and the game was played out to take the 5 point victory.

Top scorers were Devon James, Rhys Johnson and Nick Sammut with 21,18 & 15 points respectively. Victor Extevez-Rolan claimed 11 rebounds and Nick Sammut 10 rebound to take a double/double. Dan Marshall had his normal high impetus game and provided pivotal support throughout

Hunters now host Yateley SIlverbacks next Thursday at the College :15 tip
