Flyers Suffer a Shark Attack

Flyers 60:68 Southampton Sharks

Yet again the Flyers failed to get their first away win of the season. The elusive road win  leaves the squad in the middle of the table with a 3w:3L record  with two further away games before the Christmas break.

In the third quarter the honours were even at 17:17 despite some crushing impacts and falls by Dan Marshall, Andre Bayliss and Craig Mathema all of which were stunned but all recovered to continue in the game. Jack Price was bought back on and rapidly was called for a dubious offensive foul which ended his game.

The Sharks stepped up in the fourth quarter and to which the Flyers responded but were not able to defend losing the period by 11 and giving the Sharks the victory.

MVP for the game was Devon James with a double double of 13 points and 12 rebounds, top scorer was Damian Knode with 12 points, Dan Marshal collected 9 points with a whole host of rebounds and other ‘hustle points’

Another highlight for the Flyers was the exciting Ryan Alexis who played his first game contributing 8 points and 3 rebound and showed promise for the remaining away games to Bristol and a Welsh side RCT Galdiators.

Coach Knode will be working the squad before the next game on Sunday, in particular the shooting statistics which proved critical  with the Flyers successfully sinking only 31% of their shots compared to the Sharks 47%
